We are hiring! If you are interested in learning more about wine we are hiring a server to join our team in Marfa, TX. We are primarily looking for someone to work as a server in the wine bar (Thu-Sun), however we can fill out a full time position with work in the winery during the week as well as harvest work during August/September when we limit the bar hours.

If you already have an interest in wine but are looking to get more hands on in a winery, or are looking to expand your wine knowledge in a casual restaurant setting this is a great fit!

Job title: Server, Winery Intern

Job description: The server is responsible for providing an exceptional dining experience for all guests. This includes greeting customers, taking food and wine orders, serving meals and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to upholding restaurant standards. Wine knowledge not necessary, but a plus. Available additional work in the winery to fill out a full schedule, including bottling, harvest work and managing aging/storage process.  Opportunity to learn about winemaking as well as wine service.

Responsibilities:

Wine Bar & Restaurant

• Greet customers in a warm and welcoming manner and present menus.

• Answer questions about menu items including wine, make recommendations

• Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff

• Serve food and drinks to guests promptly and professionally

• Ensure customer satisfaction by regularly checking in and addressing any concerns or complaints

• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and restocking.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area and service stations.

• Collaborate effectively with other servers, kitchen, and bar staff to ensure a smooth workflow. 

Winery

·      Grape Processing: help with grape picking, crush, press and monitoring fermentation

·      Cellar Work: clean and sanitize tanks, barrels, and other equipment; perform pump-overs and punch-downs; assist with racking and barrel work

·      General Duties: assist with bottling and labeling; help with other tasks as directed by the winemaking team

Qualifications and skills:

• Proven experience as a server or in a similar role, wine knowledge a plus but not required

• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and interest in learning about wine, winemaking

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, ability to work with a team

• Ability to understand food menu and wine offering. and make recommendations

• Must be responsible, trustworthy, and have a positive attitude
